When: Sunday, February 5th Friendship Soiréesoirée|swäˈrā| an evening party or gathering for conversation or music. ORIGIN French, from soir ‘evening.’ We will be deviating from our normal style of Sunday night gatherings on February 12th to host a dinner celebrating friends and fellowship. The dress is casual and bring your friends along. The cost is a suggested donation of $4. If you would like to get involved, we still need volunteers to make chili, bake desserts, and decorate/set up. If you want to get involved in planning future events like bake sales and Pancake Day, come to the event planning meeting on February 9th, next Thursday. When: Thursday, February 9th Mexico TripOur annual house-building trip to the Baja of Mexico will be taking place this year from April 29 to May 6. When: April 29 - May 6 The Story & CharismataJust as a friendly reminder, there are currently some interesting classes being led by our pastors, Matt and James. Pastor James is leading The Story class, which is focusing on the big story of scripture. In the Charismata class, pastor Matt is currently leading a study and a discussion regarding the nature and expression of "the gifts of the Holy Spirit". Feel free to contact the two pastors regarding their classes through the email addresses below. Core GroupsWe gather in small groups in our dwelling places to share our lives together, to hear from God through scripture, to pray and worship, and to be sent to participate in the mission of God. Core groups will begin meeting this week! Find a group that works for you, and show up this week. Contact the facilitator for more details. On Sunday nights we gather on campus as a community for worship, Word, and prayer. Each week is infused with dialogue around a topic relevant to student life, but mostly we are just trying to learn how to love one another while at the university.
